About

I create my jewelry by hand in my home in Corte Madera, CA., using abalone, gemstones, pearls, shells, and recycled metal.  I use only vintage (recycled) coral and found shells, as most shells available for  purchase are often collected and processed in ways that are harmful to the environment.  I especially love using abalone in my pieces.  Most abalone jewelry is made using Paua, the very vibrant blue-green abalone from New Zealand, which is widely poached and sold on the black market.  I use only red abalone (Haliotis rufescens) pieces I find on California beaches.  The color is more subtle.  To me, they are like little rainbow treasures!

I find  beach combing to be both meditative and exhilarating!  I love the serenity of searching, and the excitement of finding objects to use in my pieces.   I especially love finding remnants of shells that have been worn down in just the right way, as though they have been purposely shaped by the tides.

I love the creative process.  I enjoy playing with and arranging colors, shapes and sizes in my pieces.  I love experimenting with unexpected combinations. Many of my pieces are named after the women who purchase and  wear them.  I love this tradition! I guarantee my pieces for life.  If something ever needs repair, just send it to me and I'll fix it for free.

I hope you find something you love and wear on repeat.
